To describe facades and the body of the monument would be too exhaustive: meeting on the Island of the Town and contemplate one of the most beautiful cathedrals of France. |

In the evocation of Montmartre, we think of the numerous artists attracted by the pitoresque site and omnipresent since the end of the 19th century.
From an ethymologic point of view, Montmartre indicates the " mountain of the martyrs ". Before the costruction of the basilica of the Sacred Heart, in a style Byzantine romano, the hill was a small village situated outside surrounding walls strengthened by Paris. |

On the Place de l'Etoile raises itself, in the form of vault, the Triumphal arch. His financier, Napoleon, wished a monument to commemorate the glory of the French army. The names of his victories remained engraved in the stone of the monument. |

| The Arc de Triomphe also contains the grave of the unknown soldier, the symbol of thousands of soldiers killed on the front during the first world war. Since 1923, every November 11th, the Flame of the Memory on the grave of the unknown soldier was symbolically relit by war veterans and soldiers. |
